Enugu state have enjoyed peace for a long time but is more pronounced now than before. A state with over three million people but have been so peaceful. Fulani headers in other state are fighting with them, the same Fulani headers are in Enugu state staying peaceful with them. There are communal clashes in most states in Nigeria, Enugu state have communities living in peace. There are few communal clash that arise occasionally but is very minimal and nipted in the board as it arise. Enugu is the safest state in Nigeria in terms of armed robbery and the likes. Past IGP of police confirmed Enugu as the safest and most peaceful state in Nigeria. Enugu is highly orderly in keeping laws and others.
There was killings termed to be politically motivated in the past, in this administration, it has not happened.
Even in governance, the relationship between executives and other arms of government have been cordial. In the past government, there was frequent change of leadership in legislators deemed to have been motivated by executives, there was a time the house of assembly was barricaded by police for a long time to stop them from sitting because the then governor is afraid of the outcome of their sitting. Now, such fears are gone. The leadership of the legislature have remained unchanged and there is no fracas between them and the executives. The judiciary have gone on strike due to disagreement and unfriendliness with other past governments in Enugu state. There was a time the governor was a lawyer and still judiciary went on strike in the state. The fracas was so sharp that it went up to national industrial court, yet peace and agreement was not found. Today the story have changed for the better. The cordially between the three arms of government in the state is highly enviable. Strikes, industrial action and show down by labour union have highly reduced and is going into extinction in Enugu because of the peaceful nature Gburu Gburu have brought in Enugu state. In order to maintain peace in the communities, Gov Ugwuanyi ( MR FULFILMENT)have made good use of traditional rulers, town union and neighbourhood watch groups than any other government. His constant meeting, effective communication and smooth feedback mechanism with them is second to none. The peace this government have given us gives peace of mind and assurance of better tomorrow. When there is peace, investor’s confidence is boosted and the economy grows fast. Our prayers is that subsequent governments will sustain this legacy. Peaceful Gburu Gburu, peaceful Enugu state.
