Kaduna: Bandit Terrorists Kill Police Officer, Abduct 23 Others

Gunmen suspected to be bandit terrorists have killed a police officer, while twenty-three others were abducted in Ungwan Maje and Ungwan Laka villages in the Chikun Local Government Area of the state.
According to reports, the terrorists invaded the communities in the early hours of Wednesday and shot at villagers who were still sleeping.

Residents disclosed that bandits terrorists attacked Ungwan Maje where they abducted sixteen people, majorly women and children.

The gunmen thereafter proceeded to the Ungwan Maje community where a police officer identified as Joshua Markus was killed.

A further report had it that the police officer who lost his life in the attack was on a visit to his family from the Rivers State Command where he was serving.

The terrorists thereafter abducted the wife and daughter of the slain police officer.

The incident was confirmed by the spokesman of the state police command, Mohammed Jalige.

He noted that security operatives are working on arresting the bandits and rescuing the kidnapped victims.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has accused the Federal Government of slowing down efforts of northwest governors to end banditry in the region.
El-Rufai lamented that as the Governor of the state he controls no security assets because security agencies take their orders from Abuja.
