The founder and convener of the Njikokamma Movement For Gburugburu, Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme who also doubles as the the founder/president of The Maurice Akueme Foundation – in his usual way of supporting Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, yesterday organized a town hall meeting for Ugwuanyi in Nsukka, the zone where Ugwuanyi is seeking to replace Senator Chukwuka Utazi in the Red Chambers of the Nigerian National Assembly.
While voters were mobilized from all the wards in Enugu North Senatorial Zone, the mode of admission was an evidence of voter eligibility, “Operation Show Your PVC”.
Speaking during the town hall meeting, Hon. Kelechi Ameh(Pancho), the latest SSA to Governor Ugwuanyi thanked His Excellency for finding him worthy to be part of his government, he thanked the people for also confiding in his capacity, always, he said that; it was the people’s constant supports and responsiveness that earned him the position.
Furthermore, Mr. Ameh introduced Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme who was represented by the Njiko family, led by Comr. Emmanuel Onwuegbu. The group came all the way from Enugu West Senatorial Zone to witness the town hall meeting, as directed by Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme.
Ameh while hailing Akueme for his sagacity and spirit of fellowship said that; if a man from Udi should support and sponsor such a political program for Ugwuanyi, who is not from his zone, it therefore passes a vote of confidence on Ugwuanyi that he remains the best candidate for Senate.
Ameh enumerated the numerous supports Akueme has given to Gov. Ugwuanyi and the entire zone in form of palliatives, elderly care, girl child education, empowerment, widows scheme, health care services, etc.
Hon Ameh also commended Akueme for not just focusing his support in Enugu West, but extending to other zones; “I must commend Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme for extending such hand of fellowship to other zones and local government areas, what he is doing here today, he has done, and still doing for his zone, he is indeed a party man, he is doing these because of the personal and deep love he has for Governor Ugwuanyi, an average thinking man will declare “no more support for Ugwuanyi” since he is leaving the seat as governor, but this is not the case with Akueme, he remains the Ugwuanyi’s administration greatest supporter, and I thank him for that”.
Comr. Onwuegbu, in his own remark said that his principal, Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme have done so much for the Ugwuanyi administration, he said “Akueme has unconditional love for his leader, Gov Ugwuanyi”.
Other persons who spoke in support of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s Senatorial bid were widows, youths, the elderly, in their various comments, they pledged to mobilize support for Ugwuanyi before and during the elections.
Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme, a former senatorial aspirant in Enugu West Senatorial Zone is from Ukana in Udi Local Government Area.
