A union of 23 years between a pastor, Dele Adewale and his wife has been dissolved after the husband informed Igando Customary Court in Lagos, that his wife beat him up and poisoned his food twice.

According to Adewale: “She poisoned my food twice. My wife forced me to abandon my house due to her threat to kill me.
“She is violent in nature. She hits me.”
However, Favor denied ever hitting her husband or poisoning him, stating that her husband abandoned her and their four children for two years.
She said: “I never poisoned his food nor hit him.”
The court president, Mr Adeniyi Koledoye, granted the couple divorce due to incompatibility.
He said: “The court has come to the conclusion that the marriage between the couple had broken down irretrievable, therefore, the dissolution of their marriage is needful.
“It is proper for both parties to go their separate ways since they are tired of their marriage while all efforts to reconcile them failed.
The court hereby pronounces the marriage between Dele and Favour Adewale dissolved today. Both of you henceforth cease to be husband and wife. ”
He granted custody of their third and fourth child to the wife with a monthly allowance of N10,000 for their feeding.
He also asked Adewale to pay Favor a severance package of N150,000 and N200,000 to help her get an apartment.
