N-Power: FG Announces New Plan For Beneficiaries

President Muhammadu Buhari led government has disclosed that exiting N-power beneficiaries who have enjoyed the programme for two years can now access permanent job opportunities.
The development was revealed on Wednesday, January 20 by Minister of Hum0anitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq, Naija News understands.

According to the minister, while speaking at the 4th annual review of the Home Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP) a few moments ago, the development is part of the newly-activated N-power exit strategy.
Source understands that the said initiative is meant for Batch A and B of the N-Power Programme.

The scheme being operated by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, will have no fewer than 200,000 beneficiaries engaged as financial services operators under the Shared Agent Network Expansion Facility (SANEF).

“Plans have been concluded for the transition of the N-power Batch A and B through the creation of the NEXIT portal, which would allow those who choose to sign up to access other government empowerment opportunities,” Farouq noted.

She added that “A beneficiary management system for the NSIPs is expected to be deployed in 2021. It would have the capacity to manage payments, address grievances and improve the dissemination of information.”

The government said another 30,000 beneficiaries have been engaged as geospatial experts and enumerators in the Economic Sustainability Plan’s Mass Agric programme. While others will have the option of benefiting from the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) micro-enterprise loans.

Meanwhile, a branch of the Social Intervention Scheme of the Federal Government, N-Creative training has commenced in the North since January 14, 2021.
