The formidable National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) ; the umbrella students body of all the students in Nigerian universities recently paid a courtesy visit to the good-natured governor of Enugu State for due presentation of the current president of NANS; Comrade Chidi Ilogebe who happens to be the first Enugu indigene to occupy the enviable position.
During their grand stay, the Senate President of NANS;Comrade Abubakar Gambo Mohammed from IBB University, LAPAI, showered the good-humored leader of Enugu State with polished approbations; submitting that Gburu Gburu remains among other characters, a peace-minded man of vision that matches opportunities with devoted and consistent capacity to achieve the desired set goals for the welfare of all and significantly, the most student-friendly and simultaneously, the most youth-friendly governor in the whole Nigeria.
Comrade Gambo proceeded to express his elation for the seeming ease with which the Governor is managing the affairs of Enugu people and beyond, cresting a lot of positive impacts in the lives of those that come across his person. They were grateful that Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has been able to maintain a noticeably peaceful state in of the raging security challenges across the country and still manages to pay the state workers their minimum wage which has been sidelined by most governors in Nigeria.
The students never skipped to applaud the governor for his vivid predilection towards involving youths actively in his administration and further commended his impressive and unique demeanor during the #ENDSARS protest and his timely reactions to the demands made by the protesters, following it up with visibly reassuring steps by visiting the defunct SARS station to ensure its prompt closure as demanded by Nigeria Youths and directed by the Federal Government. The students were “pleased” that the Gburu Gburu did not blink an eye before setting up an independent commission of enquiry to look into the complaints tabled by protesters and make appropriate recommendations.
So, in inference, students had no reason to doubt the governor’s credibility and the great possibility that he would allow the current NANS President; Comrade Chidi Ilogebe to tap some bit of experience and support from the treasure island of Governor Ugwuanyi’s wealth of experience and political prosperity so that he can be able dispense his responsibilities in a manner that would earn him more accolades and recognitions.
Another students leader that bared his mind during the appointment was Comrade Salahudeen. A. Lukman; NANS Director General of Public Communication from ABU, Zaria, Kaduna State,
ENUGU STATE IS IN THE HANDS OF GOD.
