Biafra agitator and leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has reacted to the sack and appointment of new service chiefs by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The IPOB leader predicted that the new service chiefs won’t be able to solve the security challenges facing the nation, noting specifically that they will soon prove their inability to stop Boko Haram, killer herdsmen and ISWAP terrorists.

He however lamented that they may tolerate the alleged extra-judicial killings of unarmed activists in the Southeast.

Kanu made his view known in a tweet on Tuesday shortly after President Buhari had appointed new service chiefs to replace the former ones.

“It will surely get worse because your new Service Chiefs will soon prove unwilling and unable to stop BokoHaram, herdsmen and ISWAP while at the same time tolerating the extrajudicial killing of UNARMED activists in the South, especially in Southeast, as in the ongoing #OrluMassacre,” Kanu tweeted.

Previously, the President appointed Maj Gen LEO Irabor as the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Maj Gen I Attahiru as Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Rear Admiral A Z Gambo as Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), and AVM I O Amao as Chief of Air Staff (CAS).
Meanwhile, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to probe the sacked service chiefs to unravel the reasons behind Nigeria’s security lapses.

The PDP reacted in a statement on Tuesday signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, was titled, ‘Appointment of New Service Chiefs Late But……., Says PDP …Demands Probe of Buratai, Others’.

The opposition party berated President Buhari for acting too late in appointing new service chiefs, “after much damage has been done”.
