Ohacracy style of leadership in Enugu State is a collective form of participation that is unique and
peculiar to our culture and had been in existence until the coming of the white men into the African polity. Thankfully, Governor Ugwuanyi a man chosen by the people understand the importance of participatory leadership and had initiated policies to rebirth this important segment of the African political culture through the instrumentality of Town Union in the State. Ohacracy is based on participatory governance and aimed at allowing the people the liberty to express themselves and make inputs on issues of concern in the State. Under Governor Ugwuanyi, the Town Union was made the 4th tier of Government after the Local Government authorities. This is because of his unbiased knowledge of Igbo historical societal arrangement and it’s forms of governance hence the incorporation of the Union in the main stream of his leadership in the State which has consolidated the dividend of democracy to the grassroots and has blended the western form of administration and our traditional formats for effective administration of the state.

Through the introduction of Ohacracy in governance of the State, it has brought the people of the State closer to the government and can now present their needs to the governor without hindrance. This has made it easy for the State government to identify various needs of every Autonomous Community in the State and efforts made to tackle them.
Through the system of participatory governance which OHACRACY prospects, the people are encouraged to choose commissioners for the governor which is his constitutional rights and such gesture is rare in our nascent democracy. It is through Ohacracy leadership principle that made RAMP project workable as the beneficiary Community is closingly working with the state government in delivering the project through adequate monitoring.

In line with the peace mantra of the current administration in Enugu State, The enthronement of Ohacracy has made settling of communal and inter community disputes possible in the State by deepening Alternative Dispute Resolution System in the grassroots through the Town Union and Traditional Rulers in the State. This has reduced court cases between brothers and have united the people the more which is a credit to the current administration. The Town Union and Traditional Rulers have formed the vanguard of peace in their various communities as a result of constant training through seminars and workshop the State Government organizes for them. This has boosted their experience on peaceful resolution of cases in their domain. This is possible because of their inclusiveness in the administration and our amiable governor always have a listening ear and is ever willing to welcome them in his office for dialogue. The governor also sought their opinion in every issue in the State especially in areas of peace and conflict.

Ohacracy
is embedded by the values of the Igbo people which they respect a lot. Ohacracy in Ugwuanyi administration is peaceful, stable and non-violent form which needed to be consolidated the more.

Ohacracy is embedded in good
governance which is divinely endowed in the State because it is
devoid of bickering and all other forms of evil that is associated with
political activities. The Ugwuanyi administration restored morality in the political arena. The principles as introduced by the current administration has advanced justice, equity, fair play, oneness,
brotherhood, love and unity in the State.

Similarly, the current administration set up a model leadership in Enugu State, where power belongs to the people. This is better appreciated within the
conceptual bounds of Ohacracy leadership principle of Governor Ugwuanyi.
Ohaocracy is a practical administration of societal order under the current administration which has made Autonomous communities the
determinant of the praxis of the socio-political life in the State.

Ohacracy reinforces active participation of all
responsible persons especially women and youths in the polity which promotes the common
good and the common goal in our existential life in Enugu State.
