On 22nd day of April 2021 there came up a rancor which came as a result of an attempt to demonish the said market. This market is majorly occupied our northern brothers who deal on livestock and other good items.
Before this day, there have been a court case bothering on the actual owner of the said place(new Artisan). It was gathered that the court ruled in favour of family of a formal traditional ruler, HRH Igwe Gabriel Nnaji(NWAJANJA).
There is a clear evidence that the said property rightly belongs to them (NWAJANJA’s), as declared by the court of law. The owners of this place have in several occassions notified all the illegal occupants of their plan to demonish all the illegal structures in the said property. The Governor having seen the outcome of the court proceedings timely provided an ulternative space for relocation of the occupants of new Artisan market while some of the people obeyed the directive and relocated to the place provided by the Governor some mischievous ones among them refused to move.
To greatest amazement, this recalcitrant fellows occupying the property resisted every plan to demonish those no longer structures in the market. This escalated to the level of destroying of machines like bulldozers and cartapillars hired to carry out the demonition. It futher degenerated it sparodic shootings, burnfires and road blockades. To the glory of God no life was lost as few people were injured.
Thankgod for Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, our peace loving Governor who immediately mandated the security operatives to restore peace and bring normalcy in the area.
Enugu state as the most peaceful state in the country did not come as a surprise, it was because of the person who is in charge. Since Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi assumed the helm of leadership, he restored the already decaying peace of Enugu, which was as a result of political upheaval among the political bigwigs. Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi occupied the lion building and made Enugu state a peace haven, hatched peaciful coexistence among the people. He cuts across party line with his peace vanguard and destroyed unhealthy oppositions from other political parties and this gave birth to the slogan” Enugu state is PDP and PDP is Enugu”. Following the new Artisan incidence, some uninformed and disgrunted set of people who abhor good process stood by the small rancor to destroy all the efforts of the Governor in bring the state to a limelight. They tried to bring Enugu state government into the incidence by trying to undermine the efforts of the governor during this crisis, their antics are not far fetched, they this to bring unwarranted enemty among these people of different tribes and religions who live peacifuly in Enugu, let it be clear that the demonition attempt was by the rightful owners of the property as ruled by the court.
His Excellency will not relent in making sure that Enugu state and its inhabitants enjoy a lasting peace which engenders development of any kind.
