President Muhammadu Buhari will meet the released schoolboys from Kankara in Katsina State by 3pm today (Friday).
This was confirmed to newsmen by the secretary to the Katsina State Government, Mustapha Inuwa who spoke through his media aide, Abdullahi Yar’Adua.
Bibian Anekwe News understands the schoolboys will meet with the President at the presidential lodge of the Katsina government house.
The pupils have been taken to Katsina Hajj camp for medical checkup and clothing after they were received on Friday morning by the Katsina State governor, Aminu Bello Masari following their release by their abductors.
The students who travelled over the night to arrive in Katsina State in the early hours of Friday were covered in dust with some of them looking unhealthy and traumatized after spending six nights with their abductors.
The students were kidnapped from the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara last week Friday and were forced into the bush by their abductors.
On Thursday, 17th December, they were released based on negotiations reportedly facilitated by the Miyetti Allah group as confirmed by the Katsina State government.
The students will also be reunited with their families later on Friday, our correspondent gathered.
In other news, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, on Thursday noted that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government has done everything in its power to please the Academic Staff Union of Universities to end the lingering strike.
Ngige in a statement released through his media officer, said the union is in the right place to state why it has not returned to class.
The Minister described the statement credited to the University of Jos chapter of ASUU, led by Dr. Maigoro, that the minister was responsible for the prolonged nationwide strike as dishonest.
