As the excited citizens in Enugu State welcome their amiable and simple brand new governor, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mba into the Enugu seat of power the question on the lips of not quite a few has been the audacity of hope rekindled in the hearts of the citizens by the Governor on his inauguration day via his well thought out road map speech. Interestingly, the hope looking citizens got more than what they bargained for. At the heart of Ndi Enugu basic necessity for a very long time has been the issue of perennial water scarcity in Enugu metropolis and environs and Governor Mba gave an indication that he is going to tackle just that headlong and within a timeline of his first six months in office translated in days as 180 days.
As a leader in a genuine hurry to firm up his inauguration promise, governor Peter Mba didn’t lay back but sprang to his feet to conclude on the deal with the citizens. He quickly assembled a team of local and foreign experts experienced in water technology to actualize this noble dream. By this singular move, Gov. Mba is not just proving his interest to deliver on his well articulated manifesto but that a political leader must be true not only to himself but the people he has asked for their votes. Mba is truly poised to discountenance the wide held perception of political leaders playing to the gallery once elected into office. I am hopeful that governor Ndubusi Mba will never dash the hopes of the multitudes of Ndi Enugu who voted for him.
To further ensure that his program is realized in due time, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mba has been going round the state along with the concerned contractors and engineers inspecting the dilapidated water facilities in the state and taking the necessary records of the equipment that need to be changed and the ones that merely require maintenance for effective and efficient water reticulation in the Coal City; a project that is designed to be replicated in Nsukka, Udi and Awgu areas of the state.
As every initial step taken by His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mba in these early days of his leadership gives him away as a potential workaholic governor, I can connect with the certainty of his Excellency’s assertion that he is truly in a hurry for some disruptive innovations and not just to develop the state and bring our tomorrow closer to our doorsteps but to actually engrave his name in the sands of time with positive impacts.
Therefore, as we all stand in awe with a reassuring confidence in the new administration of Enugu State, we are poised to observe and appreciate the magic wand of the leaders in resolving the myriads of infrastructural deficits currently facing the state. Truly, OUR TOMORROW IS HERE.
Long Live, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mba.
The Executive Governor of Enugu State.
Long Live, The Good People of Enugu State.
