An amorphous group which goes by an equally curious name “Saveenugu group” is at it again. Not done with their untiring but unsuccessful mudslinging and campaign of calumny against the identifagable governor of Enugu state, our own Gburu-Gburu, they took advantage of the issues arising from the recent sermons on the adoration ground by the revered Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka and his superiors interventions in the matter to link the peace loving governor to the unfolding incident. It would be recalled, that Rev. Fr. C. E. Mbaka, the spiritual director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu Nigeria (AMEN) situated at Umuchigbo Nike Enugu had earlier this month in one his adoration sermons decried the state of insecurity in the country and subsequently called for the resignation or impeachment of President Mohammadu Buhari. Not quite a few aligned with the position of the clergy man. Consequent upon this far reaching sermon which highlighted the fears troubling the generality of the Nigerian citizenry and in recognition of Fr. Mbaka’s antecedent and popularity, the powers that be at the center attacked Fr. Mbaka and what he stands for ferociously prompting the Spiritual leader of the Catholic church in Enugu, His Lordship, CVC Onaga to wade in to save the highly charismatic priest on one hand and the revered catholic church from opprobrium on the other hand.
It is important to point out that Rev. Fr. Ejike Camillus Mbaka by the spiritual unction he received at ordination has never left anyone in doubt save for the minority who chose to opprobriate the man of God for reasons best known to them that God is working through him to salvage the lost sheep of God. Aside the many miracles wrought through his spiritual anointing, Rev. Fr. Mbaka has been able to empower so many indigent citizens irrespective of clan or denominational affiliation.
His investments in micro businesses has ensured a source of livelihood for many an individual making him one of the most influential employer after government in Enugu State. This writer had it on good authority that Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka had been adjudged a true father of the orphans and the indigents. The sheer no of people on scholarship via his interventions and those he had continually settled their outstanding hospital bills speaks volumes about a priest who is committed to God’s injunctions. Little wonder then, why he commands so much respect among the people, catholics and non catholics alike.
As a leader who is also committed to serving his people by courting God’s grace, Gov. Ifeanyichukwu Ugwuanyi cannot but establish an uncommon synergy with the Catholic priest. Gov. Ugwuanyi had more often admired the welfarist dispositions of the catholic clergy man and would never in his imagination or the imagination of the mischief makers wish Rev. Fr. Mbaka evil.
Again, catholic church it must also be noted is a highly revered institution with hierarchical structures that took recognition of importance of devolution of powers.
Therefore, a priest is necessarily under the supervision of the supervising Bishop in each church locality and must take order accordingly from the Bishop as to his unctional functions. So is the Bishop under the supervision of the Pope or his appointee in every locality where catholic church is domiciled or what is commonly referred to as ‘Papal Nuncio’.
Interestingly, in a rather twist of the whole truth, the clandestine group known as “Saveenugu” launched a campaign via some social media platforms to insinuate that Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Bishop CVC Onaga, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu diocese planned together to have Mbaka exiled or suspended simply because, he Fr. Mbaka expressed personal views on the state of the nation. What a shame!
Pray, what would Gov. Ugwuanyi gain by dabbling in what is purely regarded as an in house administrative matter and in an independent revered institution as the catholic church? I’d like to remind this shadowy group that Rt. Honorable Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the Executive governor of Enugu state has grown beyond a mediocre leader. His unarguable pedigrees have been established over time since his first term. what this shadowy group seeks to do is to diminish his ever skyrocketing pedigree as a peace loving and humanist Leader who brooks no evil and dispenses no evil.
For the avoidance of doubt, Gov. Ugwuanyi loves Rev. Fr. Mbaka and for even doing much more for the people using his God given resources, no body can ever wish the clergy man evil. All the catholic Bishop of Enugu has done is purely an administrative procedure to protect one of his own, Qed!
I’d like to finally remind these amorphous group that their evil propaganda is not only laughable but highly infantile. The good people of Enugu know the actual wheat from the chaff.
Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is a tested and trusted leader who believes in the rule of law. He has already set his eyes beyond 2023. At the fullness of time, he would surely unveil another peace loving and personable personae to take over the reins of leadership in Enugu to continue from where he left off. No matter the evil propaganda of those bent on rubbishing his above the average governance style of the state, Governor Ugwuanyi refused to be distracted and would have a good and final laugh at them.
Finally, let this amorphous group be unveiled for what they truly are. They are “Destroyenugu” rather than what they purport to be or represent. God will shame them, because Enugu State has never been left in the hands of the devil or evil ones. God is still reigning Supreme in the affairs of Ndi Enugu.
