A suspected rapist, Ayuba Adabo, has been nabbed after allegedly falling asleep immediately after the act.
According to reports, Adabo reportedly raped a twenty-five-year-old lady along Amagiya road, Sapele, Delta state.
Speaking about the incident, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, said that the suspect, who was heavily drunk, accosted the victim and dragged her to his room. He threatened to shoot her before forcefully having sex with her.
He then fell into a deep sleep after the act.
The victim on noticing that the suspect was fast asleep sneaked out and ran to Sapele division where she reported the case. Consequently, patrol team/detectives were drafted to the scene. The suspect was promptly arrested,” Edafe said in the statement.
Meanwhile, a 90-year-old woman has been allegedly raped by her 45-year-old son in Mboni-Makueni, Kenya.
The suspect Patrick Mumo Ngenge had carnal knowledge of his mother on October 20, 2021 and has since then gone into hiding.
The aged woman was found in her room by her eldest son writhing in pain.
The Director of Criminal Investigations said that Ngege had intruded into his mother’s house around 8pm before committing the crime.
The DCI said: “She tearfully narrated her harrowing ordeal in the hands of her younger son Patrick Mumo,45, who forced his way into her bedroom around 8:00pmae she slept and subjected her to the beastly act.”
The woman was immediately rushed to Kisau sub county hospital where she is currently undergoing treatment. The doctors at the hospital has also confirmed that the woman was raped.
The suspect has been asked to turn himself in as the law will finally catch up with him.
