Since the Controversial Bill made its way by scaring the first reading in the Enugu State House of Assembly, political commentators and observers of political development in the State has seriously criticized and condemned the bill; describing it as anti people. One of the cardinal reasons for the total condemnation of the bill is because of the economic situation in the country and the agony the masses are subjected do to hunger hence the zero tolerance of the bill in our contemporary.
In furtherance to this, the Enugu State House of Assembly is carrying out their primary responsibility of law making and the member who introduced the bill should not be humiliated or condemned because Igbo parlance described his presentation of the bill as Uche bu akpa or Uche onye adighi ya njo
The question is where did Governor Ugwuanyi came into the Controversial Bill? The clear point is that the oppositions who have been looking for a loophole to criticize the administration saw this as an opportunity to do so and forget the common sense that the bill is never an executive bill. Governor Ugwuanyi maintained a cordial relationship with the State House of Assembly but refused to interfer in the leadership and activities of the house and cannot interfer now because it is never in the character of his transformation leadership in the State to have cause political disaffection between the executive and the legislative arms. Since his inception into office as the executive governor of Enugu State, he never had an administrative logjam with the house and today, the opposition want to use the Controversial Bill to cow the governor and bring disaffection between him and the House which I Know that the governor; in his charismatic style will not allow it to happen but his disposition of political dialogue will shame the opposition and critiques.
Anyone dragging the name of the governor to the Controversial Bill should wait till he assent to the bill but for now the masses must allow the State House of Assembly to carry on with their constitutional duty. It is not yet time to protest because the State House of Assembly must call for public input and it is on this stage that the masses can express their feelings rather than unnecessary comments and protest attributing the said bill to our amiable governor.
The crusaders of the unwarranted attack to the person of the governor is playing a script of 2023 and the people of Enugu State must wise up to defend the stance of the governor on zoning arrangement in the State. Those who want to scuffle zoning arrangement are fighting left and right using Social media to cause disaffection between the people and the governor. Let the people of the State understand the hand written on the wall.
Let me put it to the opposition that Governor Ugwuanyi cannot be distracted as he will remain focus and allow State House of Assembly to carry out their constitutional rights of making laws. In Igbo parlance, it states that Anaghi Amu Aka Ekpe na Nka and what it means is that the current administration has made a legacy of non-interference to the activities of the State House of Assembly and not now that he will dabble into it.
Enugu State is in the hands of God.
