The twenty first of the month of November in the year of the Elohim; Twenty-Twenty would go down in the political archive of Nsukka people as a day that the people backed their quest for political advancement in the Twenty-first century Nigeria by forging and celebrating an epic political unity, revolving around the personality of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi( Mr Fulfilment) the executive governor of Enugu state.
It was a day that the creme-de-creme drawn from all sectors of life assembled at the spacious field of the renowned Nsukka High School to express their contentment and gratitude for the administration of Governor IFEANYI UGWUANYI. Noble characters from a cross-sectoral selection mainly from Nsukka zone were enthusiastic to pour Mr. Fulfillment with venerating adjectives. One of the major political actors from the zone; Senator Ayogu Eze who contested the governorship position with Gburu Gburu under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC) in his speech treasured his relationship with the Governor and assured him of their unadulterated support, that he should “move on” without any iota of trepidation since his people stand firmly with him in his current and future political adventure.
In his own manner, the incumbent President-General of the apex Igbo Socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Dr. Nnia Nwodo also spoke in flamboyant terms about Mr. Fulfillment and glorified God that made it possible that he was there to behold and confirm the evidence of the governor’s administrative dexterity. In the same vein the former governor of Enugu state,Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo rated Gburu Gburu’s leadership model very high, valuing the fact that he was alive to witness the emergence of another Nsukka son occupying the Lion Building as the Governor of Enugu state , further grooved on the truth that Governor Ugwuanyi had registered a lot of infrastructural facilities in Nsukka zone, literarily cleaning the “tears” of the long-ignored Nsukka zone.
As different jubilant speakers took rounds to avail their appraisals of the people-oriented Governor Ugwuanyi, the intellectual Archbishop of Nsukka Catholic Diocese, Prof. Godfrey Igwebuike Onah and his Anglican counterpart, Most Rev. Agbo applauded the governor for his genuine concern in the development of the state and assured him that they will continue to pray for him.
Some other of the dignitaries that affirmed and re-affirmed their loyalty and support for Governor Ugwuanyi were Senator Chuka Utazi, representing Enugu North Senatorial District, Rt. Hon. Pat Asadu, representing Nsukka / Igbo-Eze South Federal Constituency and Prof. Fabian Onah who spoke for the intelligentsia; the Nsukka Professors.
On his own, the organiser of the event, Chief Engr. Vita Abba and the chairman of Odinma Nsukka assured the governor of their “irrevocable” support because it was imperative for the people to unite in solidarity for the development of the zone.
Virtually, the people of Nsukka zone seized the opportunity to signify their unquenchable support for their “worthy son” in the person of Mr Fulfillment and indicated that they will continue the zoning ordinance that has ensured peaceful transitions in Enugu state and threatened that disrespecting the zoning ethics guiding the political firmament of the state that the people could cash on their voting strength to sway any other block to their direction but hoped that the well meaning citizens would do the needful when the time arrives. The people did not mince words when they assured Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi that 2023 will characteristically end not just in praise but will favour their choice and dimension because their footing for Gburu Gburu remains unshaken
Another group whose presence was outstanding, personifying solid reassurance was the huge number of the traditional rulers from Enugu North Senatorial District. They as well conveyed their satisfaction with the administration of Governor Ugwuanyi referring to him as a “worthy son” and stamping their firm resolve to serve as Ugwuanyi’s root support.
In his elated remarks, the Governor having been inundated with approvals and eulogies raved his people with compliments for their proof of love, solidarity, support and goodwill and guaranteed his administration’s resolve to preserve a peaceful environment where unity and rewarding governance reign supreme.
