Time is the most precious gift that any human being can have. We are all born in time, we fail in time, and succeed in time, we live in time and struggle in time, and we fall and stand in time. We are sick and healthy in time, we go through existential ups and down in time. The importance of time in our existential struggle can never be over emphasized. Since Mr. Fulfilment took the mantle of leadership, he hurriedly organizes his time in a way that it is always in his service and masterly managed which yielded positive result upon his election as the governor of Enugu state. He wasted no time in repositioning the state in all fronts despite the lean resources at his disposal. His ground breaking record in all the critical aspects of our state economy especially in the area of peace economy is second to none. He never allowed time to master him but him to master time. He put time at his control and this made his life and administration more organized and with this, he ventures to master time and this produced existential successes in his five years in office.
Governor Ugwuanyi( MR FULFILMENT) is aware that unhealthy management of time is dangerous and therefore, he employed all mechanism to handle things accordingly in time. In his mastery of time; he made sure that neither seconds nor minutes passed by without achieving anything in the state. He understood that little droplets of our existential predetermine goals are healthy, happily, joyfully, achieved and by so doing, existential excitement and venture work monitoring for all are achieved in time. The need and vital importance of utilizing every existential moment available to him for the purpose of achieving an all-round authentic, sound existential living and made him to record huge successes in Enugu state. He never took time for joke rather he continued to struggle and manage time for the betterment of the state.
Despite the challenges of the time, governor Ugwuanyi remained steadfast in delivering dividends of democracy in the state through positive thinking. He believed that with God at his side, he will continue in building the Enugu of our collective dream. He developed this character of setting a target, aimed at it and achieved it. This is happening when so many states in the country has stopped carrying out capital projects but in the case of Enugu state, Ugwuanyi continued in delivering signature projects across the state. The target of the administration is to achieve one thing which is impactful to the people of the state on daily basis. In the pursuit of this daily target, he encountered many internal/external forces that militated against his plan but he never lose hope in his bid to reposition Enugu state. He never gave the internal/external forces his faith, courage and determination in delivering on his campaign promises.
Despite the challenges, he is optimistic that things will be better. His positive thinking brought development in Enugu state and influenced all to have target/ goal which we must aim at in order to accomplish it in the shortest possible period. Governor Ugwuanyi is a man of goodwill who never allowed negative thinking to occupy his mind and thought.
In spite of this, our concern is drawn to a theory called “Achievement Motivation” of governor Ugwuanyi. Achievement motivation theory is an integrated perspective based on the fact that performance motivation is born from the way different components of governance are directed towards performance. The theory found its dimension in the political inclusiveness of the people. Political inclusion is the increasing political objective of the current administration found in the philosophy of Akadi ama oke ala. Political culture of peace is more likely to be rooted in the political spectrum of the society when all segments of a society are free to participate and influence political outcomes without any form of bias or reprisal. In Nigeria, large portions of the population are excluded from politics based on their ethnicity and religion but in Enugu State, governor Ugwuanyi gave fair political representation of all segments of our states and return power to the people who gave him the mandate. His administration has increased the political participation of all groups in the state because of the sanity he brought in our political history which is deeply rooted in political culture of peace. It killed tigbuo; zogbuo that characterize our political environment before and transformed it into a modest political dialogue with non-violent action against opponents. He achieved greater level of equality, tolerance, integration, cohesiveness and understanding that political participation endeared which have fundamentally addressed the socio-economic inequalities associated with marginalization in the state. A support to Mr. Fulfillment is a support for good governance in the state.
