The political happenings in Enugu state is becoming more interesting by the day, as an Enugu law maker and one of the finest youth politician, gave a big blow to one political enclave who is doing everything in their belief to disrupt the principles of zoning formula which has in no small measure ensured peace and political tranquility of Enugu State since the return to democratic rule in 1999.
Hon. Chima Obieze, the chairman House Committee on Works, Housing and Urban development in the state Assembly, it would be recalled was at a time in Enugu political landscape, a “field Marshal” to a prominent politician from the Enugu West senatorial zone. The same “prominent politician” who had held the red chambers of the National Assembly by the jugular while it yearned for breath for a cumulative period of 12 good while fiddling with constitutional amendments project that yielded nothing to the people who elected him but to his own pocket and his cronies. Hon. Obieze and other hangers on have often praised this “political demigod to high heavens for only God knows why as the best thing that have happened to ndi Enugu State and the West in particular. To all discerning minds including my humble self, Chima Obieze was once an engine room to the expired empire who decided not to accept the reality that the people had truly rejected and deserted him due to his greed/quest for power elongation, self serving mission, classified deception, desperation and clandestine politicking. It has now dawned on his followers that their big masquerade is on a mission of self destruction as he champions an unrealistic journey to challenging the equation that brought him to affluence and political positions ever enjoyed by his immediate families and surrogates.
Now, Chima’s act of standing up for the truth and denouncing youthful slavery in politics by an acclaimed political figurehead, is truly heart warming for the youths of Enugu state. This is what I call bravery and action combined and executed timely.
I’m quite confident that Hon. Obieze has seen the famed hand writing on the wall before coming out to speak as did last week. Chima corroborated the thoughts and wishes of ndi Enugu that the power to decide who governs Enugu in 2023, solely lies in the hands of H.E governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and whose trajectory of infrastructural developments and his genuine party politics cut across the 17 local governments of the state.
It is therefore imperative to note that the age long tradition of power play and change of baton in determining the successors in Enugu government house only becomes a prerogative right of a serving governor to play a single role without consulting if he so wishes in deciding who is perfectly fit to succeed him after his tenure turns full circle. This is why Chief Obieze quickly came to this reality that H.E Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi be supported in all ramifications to anoint his successor from Enugu East because the state zoning arrangement has favoured the zone to take the next shot in lion building while Enugu West would have to wait until 2031. End of discussion.
I must point out that I am now justified with Mr. Obieze’s public acceptance of zoning and sincere denoucement of treachery and deception in politics of Enugu West, most especially aligning himself and that of his constituents with the gospel of zoning, equity, justice and rotation. And that they will do everything humanly possible to stand with the state number one, H.E Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi ( GBURUGBURU) to anoint his successor from Enugu East, come 2023. It is becoming crystal clear for those who wishes to know the direction of Ndi Enugu and the likes of Obieze, to genuinely key into the movement for the sake of records and posterity.
Enugu state is in the hands of God.
