Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s love for God is clear. No one is in doubt about it. He fears God and places Him first in all he does. Little wonder the state’s mantra is “Enugu State is in the hands of God.” The fact is that anything committed into the hands of God, He is able to keep. That presumably accounts for why Enugu State thrives in the hands of Ugwuanyi despite the economic, health and security challenges facing the country, Nigeria.
God created the earth and handed it over to man to dominate and replenish it. Man rules the earth. No power has the right to operate on earth without the permission of man.God sets order and does not violate it.So, God may know your challenges but may not intervene if you would not invite Him into it. That is why He says, call upon me in the days of trouble and I will answer you.That is why we pray. He is omniscient, all-knowing, but then by His order, He would not intervene on any issue on earth without the invitation of man. Satan too has no right to operate on earth without the permission of man. Governor Ugwuanyi is wise and knowledgeable, and so carefully called God into the affairs of Enugu State.
The Almighty God speaks His mind to His children through the small still voice or through His prophets. A prophet is a man raised from among men to speak the mind of God to men. God also raises priests, men raised by God from among men to speak the mind ( needs) of man to God. Some ministers have the gift of the combination of both the prophetic and priestly anointing in them. A good example is Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka.
Regarding the mind of God about succession plan in Enugu State, God might have spoken to Governor Ugwuanyi about it when Ugwuanyi in the Oganiru Enugu rally held at Okpara Square told the mammoth crowd of the people of Enugu East Senatorial Zone who emptied into the arena that the decision of who would succeed him would be by means of dialogue, justice, equity and fairplay. Ugwuanyi himself is a product of zoning ( let this answer the question of the doubting elderly Thomas). Zoning guarantees justice, equity and fairplay. It has ensured inclusiveness anchored on peaceful transition of power. This is a tradition that has been in place since the emergence of the new democratic dispensation that began in 1999.
Unfortunately, some folks for their selfish ambition have begun early to heat up the polity with the mischievous argument that there is no zoning agreement in Enugu State.These are folks who had largely benefitted from zoning. They are busy causing trouble in the state that they may truncate the zoning tradition. It is they who have recruited some media warlords whose daily duty is castigate the administration of Governor Ugwuanyi on social media and create the impression of the finality of competence around their paymaster as though competence lay alone with the personified hubris they worship.
But in all this, God is saying something. That what the Lord says, He is able to bring to pass. The word of God is errorless and infallible and must prosper on that it is sent. The power in the word of God is unfathomable. God made every thing he created by His Word as we read in John 1:3. The creative energy embedded in the word has the capacity to call the things that be not as though they were.
God spoke through His servant yesterday thereby reconfirming His mind to Ugwuanyi, his son, the flank to ply. God spoke through His prophet, the Prelate of Methodist Church of Nigeria, His Eminence, Dr. Samuel Chukwuemeka Kanu Uche who asked Ugwuanyi to “ensure that the governorship position continued to rotate among the three senatorial districts of the state, namely Enugu East, West and North for peace, unity and progress to continue to flourish in the state.” The Prelate who is the supreme head of the Methodist Church of Nigeria spoke the mind of God to Ugwuanyi when he led the Archbishops and bishops, other Methodist clergy and the laity to pray at the Enugu State Government House Chapel on Friday, 3rd September,2021. The Methodist Prelate came to Enugu for the 9th National Convention of the church being held at Okpara Square,Enugu.
The saying that the voice of men is the voice of God has found fulfilment here. Oganiru Enugu East Senatorial Zone is for zoning; Odinma Nsukka is for zoning, Ife Emelu-mma Enugu West is for zoning; Adada General Assembly is also for zoning. The people of Enugu State stand by zoning and now, the servant of God has also confirmed zoning.
The Lord who confirms the word of His servant surely will bring it to pass. Ugwuanyi has the fear of God and so is minded to follow the blueprint the Almighty has given him which is founded on zoning. It is incontrovertibly the turn of Enugu East Senatorial Zone to produce Ugwuanyi’s successor and now that Divinity is on the side of equity, there is nothing anyone can do about it. Whoever rises against zoning is rising against God and rising against God means colliding with the Rock of ages. It is an act of rebellion which God sees as the same thing as the sin of witchcraft which attracts death, this time, death of political career. A word is enough for the wise. They who have ears, let them hear what the spirit says about zoning.
