Gov ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State have embarked on renovation of some roads in Enugu metropolis. This is in line with his promise to make life better for Ndi Enugu. The popular Agbani Road, Zik Avenue and other major roads in Enugu urban are receiving attention currently. Even minor roads and links roads like Udi street in Asata, Etudo street, Achina street in Achara layout, Abakpa, Thinker’s Corner link road, Broadrick street in Coal camp, Ebony paint road in Garriki, Eze street in Uwani, Ugwuaji roads etc are either fully completed or at various states of completion.
When Ugwuanyi at the inception of his administration promised to give the rural dwellers equal attention and a sense of belonging by aggressively developing the rural areas, it does not mean that will look away from the needs of the urban dwellers.
As at today, federal roads like Enugu Onitsha express road is receiving attention at Abakpa junction axis of the road courtesy of Gov Ugwuanyi’s administration. So many link roads in Idaw River, Coal camp, Abakpa, Emene, Independence layout, Uwani, Garriki, Achara layout etc are receiving attention currently.
Oye Emene to Eke Obinagu road have been completed. Rehab road to Adoration Ministry Ground have been completed. All these were done as work in Abakpa flyover is going on. The work at flyover is over 70 completed and may be commissioned in the first quarter of 2022.
The roads will ease movement and impact positively in the lives of Enugu people. Quality local contractors have been engaged to deliver quality roads to the people. Gov Ugwuanyi knows that good roads will lead to improved security, improved quality of life, economic growth and development, investment attraction, etc. Ugwuanyi have explicit confidence in our local contractors and have engaged them in almost all his projects. He believes that with full support and motivation, there is nothing foreign contractors can do that our local contractors cannot do. By the way, it is also how the giant foreign contractors started.
On interview, the residents of Enugu expressed happiness on his good works. They are happy that the roads are renovated when it is needed most and praised Gov Ugwuanyi for his timely intervention. Traders at motor spare parts market at coal camp were grateful to Ugwuanyi that most of their roads got attention from his administration and that government’s intervention have reduced traffic gridlock drastically. Commercial drivers, tricycle operators and other road user praised Ugwuanyi for doing the needful on the roads.
We are grateful to his administration and we are proud to say that Enugu State is in the hand of God.
