Before the emergence of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi as the political leader of Enugu State in 2015, there have been a plethora of mundane, unwholesome, outrightly unacceptable representations concerning the previous leaders and their policy formulations as it were. Determined to change the narrative with the benefit of introspection, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi carved out a niche for himself viz-a-viz, his policy strategy, formulation and Implementation. There is no doubt that the pivot upon which purposeful governance is built upon underscores the public perception of every leader and his government.
It is therefore worthy to stress that governor Ugwuanyi’s administration has performed creditably using the indices of public administration to evaluate his accomplishments in the last six years of his administration as exemplified by his meteoric rise and uncommon leadership focus, that has endeared him to the masses. Revisiting his dossier, will uncover a man who has served with so much humility and passion to deliver positive results in various sectors of the socio-political and economic development of Enugu State and beyond. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s early signs of a true and passionate leader came to the fore when he represented his constituency in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly for 12 unbroken years before being drafted by his people to replicate same leadership prowess as the preferred Chief Executive Officer of Enugu State. Ever since, it has been a smooth sail as the chants of Gburu-Gburu remains the preferred past time of the citizens of Enugu State including toddlers who barely know how to sputter few words. It is no exaggeration that Gburu-Gburu is now a sing song in the whole of Enugu State and beyond courtesy of the way and manner he has conducted himself in government since 2015. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi as the political leader of Enugu State has shown enough zeal to make Enugu state the best state in Nigeria through his developmental activities.
Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of the state was agog recently following Ugwuanyi’s avowed stance to develop the rural areas to stem rural – urban migration. At the commissioning of the rural roads and sporting amenities constructed in their area, the people could no longer hold their emotions in check when they surged massively forward in appreciation of a son of the soil who is fast leaving a big print in the sands of time and making the people proud for it.
Ugwuanyi has had the singular reputation of creating roads in the wilderness through the wonders he has been performing via Enugu SME Centre. His performances in infrastructural development across all the 17 Local Government Areas of the State speaks volumes also about his uncommon leadership. He is equally the backers of many other groups that promotes youths development, like Gburuism Movement which engages the youths, women and other individuals in enterpreneural developments. The 6th day of July 2021 would remain indelible in the annals of Gburuism Movement as it invited the Canadian based team of Agropreneurs who engaged the people of Nsukka in a 3days agro/crypto farming training at Golden Valley hotel Nsukka, to train them on modern agrobusiness, other agricutural practices and equally provide them with hybrid seedlings and other inputs that would improve their economic lives. Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has already surpassed cumulative evaluation in the area of human and capital development.
