Buba Galadima, a former ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, has said that Nigerians would not an Igbo presidency in the 2023 election.
Galadamia stated this on Monday during an interview on Arise Television The Morning Show.
The elder statesman said that the people will support a candidate from South-East, but not “Igbo presidency”.
He said “I have a lot of friends from South East, I can vote for any of them if they present themselves but I am not agreeing to “Igbo presidency”
Bibian Anekwe News reports that ahead of the 2023 presidential election there have been growing calls for the presidential to return to the south, particularly the South-east.
Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state is reported plotting to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) over their failure to zone the presidency to the south-east.
Ohanaeze Ndigo Youth Council also called on the PDP to zone the presidency to the region or experience major defections.
