Who is after Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi?

Again I ask who is after Gburu-Gburu of Enugu State?. So many questions might be running through the minds of Ndi Enugu at the moment following the gruesome murder in broad day light of about 5 police personnel meant to provide security for the people at the Obeagu Nkanu axis. While we are yet embroiled in ecstasy about the relative peace enjoyed by the people all over Enugu and the government’s avowed commitment to ensure that this priceless value is sustained, some people somewhere, the bad belles, the avowed enemies of the people have conspired and taken evil counsel amongst themselves to truncate our peace. What a pity! Would these enemies ever relent? Would they ever succeed? God forbid!

Is it not ironical that while almost all the media outlets are awash with the celebration of Gov. Ugwuanyi as an embodiment of peace who had worked so hard since his inauguration as the Chief Executive Officer of Enugu State to ensure that peace reigns Supreme and that security of lives and properties of the people remains a ground norm, the son of bitches would have non of them and would rather put ashes in our collective buccal cavity?. Today, what we hear and see happening in other states has been brought unto our doorsteps. The “Unknown Gun men” or the “Ungun Known men are the evil counselors. What is happening in my beloved home state of Enugu should concern not quite a few. We should not really pander to the notion that we do not care as long as it is not in our house or home. It must not be a case of “Ebulu Ozu onye ozo, odi ka ebu Ukwu nku” transliterated to mean that a corpse which belongs to another family other than ours would always look like a bundle of wood before us. If we do not show concern now that there is a deceased fellow in our neighbor’s compound, it will surely be our turn tomorrow or at another time to mourn.

Enugu State has recorded quite a number of security breaches in recent time ranging from assassinations, kidnapping, armed robberies though in comparison with other states in the federation, we can celebrate. But our celebration would be nothing, if insecurity is on the rise elsewhere. Our celebration would be ashes if those who feel that they are secure hibernating in Enugu are cut down like the sapling plants. Just recently, a police personnel went berserk on a Sunday morning and pulled down 5 innocent citizens and injuring quite a number of others in Enugu metropolis which prompted Gov. Ugwuanyi to abandon his morning fellowship with his Maker to attend to the scene of the incident.
Ironically, the tide turned against the security personnels whose duty is to cover the rest of the people come rain or shine. Whatever is the motive of these evil men with the darkest heart, we beg to hand them to the all knowing God who will properly put them in their place.
Interestingly, Rt. Honorable Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the ever responsive and responsible leader of our time, was on hand to access the situation which resulted to the unwarranted killings of the security operatives working to secure the lives of the citizens. The killings can at best be described as bestial in it’s crudest form. But whatever will be, will be sang a popular musician. But it is still instructive to note that what has happened in other states can be replicated in Enugu State but our God is ever merciful. Our Leader have rightly handed her affairs to Him and Him alone. He will therefore not allow afflictions to rise in our midst again.

It is heart warming also that governor Ugwuanyi so moved by the dastardly act of the murder of the police personnels offered to lift the grieving families of the respective police officers by way of automatic employment to their widows to ameliorate and lessen their grief. What a compassionate leader! May God bless a leader so handsome and beautiful at heart. May God bless a purveyor of good governance in Enugu State. Surely, Enugu State is in the hands of God.

Bibian Anekwe News added …“The good we secure for ourselves is precarious and uncertain until it is secured for all of us and incorporated into our common life.”
