Every leader or people in leadership positions need encouragement and prayers from the people. Being in position of leadership is a blessing from God, but that blessing comes with an extra weight of responsibility that tasks much from such leader(s). Therefore it is important that leaders at all levels should be supported with our prayers to enable them stay on track and remain focused in their assigned responsibilities.
Even the Holy Book mandated us to pray for our leaders because they are mere humans just as the people they lead. It must be stressed that prayers are potent weapon against principalities and prayers grow leaders into the fullness of whom God has called them to be.
Virtually every aspect of our daily lives is affected in one way or the other by the elected political leaders.
Governor Ugwuanyi whom we elected, carries a lot of responsibility and he needs strength and wisdom everyday.
But do we spend time praying for him? We are seriously encouraged to so especially at this trying times.
Nobody is perfect. Governor Ugwuanyi needs our good prayers, to strengthen him in his onerous task of steering the sheep of state. He needs wisdom and grace to govern and to keep his heart pure as he works in the best interest of the good people of Enugu state. Obviously Governor Ugwuanyi deals with stress of governance as part of his responsibility to serve God and Enugu people. But what do we do about it? What can we do to support or encourage our Governor? How do we practically guard our state from unnecessary issues?
The most valuable blessings come when citizens pray for their leaders or their administration and even their society. As a state, we can have and experience all kinds of amazing things together, but without the covering and lifting power of prayer, those fruitful moments can get troubled and robbed all too quickly.
There are reasons we should pray for our governor His Excellency Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
According to 1 Corinthians 15: 58, we should pray that Ugwuanyi and his administration remains steadfast. Ugwuanyi is a human. He is not immune to discouragement as an individual. His Excellency needs prayer support to help him stay the course because governance is a work in progress.
We should also pray for Ugwuanyi according to 1 Timothy 4:14-15 that the governor can diligently stay the course. Someone as a leader can get elected to serve but in serving , forget to feed the people that was entrusted to him. Leaders get pulled in so many directions that the importance of their calling can get lost in the shuffle of all the other demands.
Pray for Governor Ugwuanyi to not be pulled off the course of his calling and for the Lord to grant him the enabling unction provide leadership to the end of his tenure and even beyond.
Another reason we should pray for Governor Ugwuanyi is for an all enabling confidence. Confidence in leadership is often taken for granted. We often failed to realize that leaders get their confidence pulled through the wringer constantly. It might even be argued that some of the worst behaviour you see in people is when their confidence is crumbling and they are just holding unto anything to stay emotionally afloat.
We should pray for Governor Ugwuanyi to have solid confidence in God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and awesome God of David.
Governor Ugwuanyi also needs our prayers to encourage him. We should constantly offer words of encouragement to his administration. He needs encouragement to bloom. Leaders need utmost humility, gentleness, patience and tolerance to govern (Ephesians 4:1-3).
We should pray for Governor Ugwuanyi for an enabling wisdom to fulfil the mandate of the people, and for him to hold the line and stay the course. We should use prayer to empower him to hold fast. Titus 1:7-9
Governor Ugwuanyi needs our prayers of equipment to tackle critical situations in the state. Governor Ugwuanyi needs your good partnership, your fellowship, and your support for him now more than ever.
In summary, We should pray that Ugwuanyi does not grow weary in doing good. We should pray for unity and love in his administration, Pray for Godly friendship and connection, Pray for guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit, pray for protection from temptations, Pray for good health, abundant blessings, Pray for growth and finally for God’s love and peace.
Enugu state is in the hands of God
